Nondestructive Inspection of Ceramic Spark Plug Parts Using Nonlinear Elastic Wave Spectroscopy
Original language description
In our feasibility study a non-linear elastic wave technique has been used to assess the occurence of cracks in spark plug ceramic insulaters. A simple transducer / ceramic insulator clamp hardware has been developed and the percentage of total harmonicdistortion, which is the ratio of the amplitude of 2nd harmonic and the fundamental, has been introduced as the measurement parameter in this study. A 20 pcs of the defected and 80 nondefected ceramic insulators were analysed. The preliminary results hasconfirmed very high sensitivity of the applied technique.
