Numerical solution of turbulent flows in a channel with various backward-facing inclined steps
Original language description
The work deals with the numerical solution of incompressible turbulent flow in a channel with the backward-facing step having various inclination angles. The governing RANS equations are closed by the explicit algebraic Reynolds stress (EARSM) model according to Wallin (2000) and for comparison by linear eddy viscosity models (SST, TNT). The numerical solution is carried out partly by the implicit finite volume method based on the artificial compressibility and partly by the finite element method. The numerical results are compared with experimental data by Makiola (1992) and Driver & Seegmiller (1985).
