Two forward-flow regimes in actuator nozzles with large-amplitude pulsation
Original language description
Investigations of pulsatile flows in a wide range of frequencies in a simply-shaped nozzle with return flow back into the nozzle during a part of the cycle led to discovery of effects not previously mentioned in literature. In a synergetic approach, datafrom hot-wire anemometer measurements are supported by numerical flowfield computations. Particularly interesting is the existence of two different characters of the flowfield inside the nozzle in the forward-flow part of the period. In the transition between the two regimes, the initial annular-flow dominated configuration changes into a central-dominated flow.
