Calibration and Implementation of a Simple Model with Directional Distortional Hardening

As seen in numerous experiments, yield surfaces change their shape and location during plastic straining. Several models of directional distortional hardening to capture such behavior have been proposed recently, e.g., by Feigenbaum and Dafalias [1], [2]and Shutov et al. [5]. In particular, the so-called ?-model makes use of the Armstrong-Frederick rule with a recovery term to introduce distortional variable. The follow up papers [4], [3] addressed the issues of convexity and multiaxial ratcheting. Inthis work, the ?-model will be reviewed first and the necessary and sufficient conditions to ensure thermodynamic consistency and convexity presented. Employing these constraints and analytical solutions to simple loading modes, such as the uniaxial tension, pure shear and cyclic test conditions, close form formulas have been established for inverse material parameters fitting procedures. The way the model reproduces varying experimental input data is demonstrated by means of examples. T
