Time reversal signal processing in acoustic emission testing

  • Original language description

Reliable identification and classification of already localized acoustic emission (AE) sources is one of the most important and also most difficult problems in AE monitoring. In this paper we discuss relatively new methods of precise AE source localization and identification in all kinds of simple or very complex structures. Those methods are based on a Time Reversal procedure of AE signal processing.
