Discontinuous Galerkin method for compressible flow with low Mach numbers
Original language description
We will deal with compressible viscous flow in a bounded domain, which can be described by the system of the Navier-Stokes equations. For discretization in space we employ the discontinuous Galerkin method (DGM), which takes advantages from the finite volume method as well as from the finite element method. In the time discretization we use the n-step backward difference formula (BDF). It is well-known, that compressible flow with very low Mach numbers is very close to incompressible flow. In our numerical experiments we consider a channel with two bumps, which represent a simplified model of vocal folds. The results concerning the comparison of the compressible flow and incompressible flow are presented.
