Sliding Mode Control for Island Water Pump Directly Fed by Renewable Energy Source
Original language description
The paper suggests applying sliding mode control technique for solving ones of main problems of island control plants directly fed by renewable energy sources, namely efficient allocation of electrical energy and elimination of the power flow oscilaration on plant dynamic response. By the example of water pumping system equipped with a centrifugal pump and exterior permanent magnet synchronous motor fed by renewable power through a voltage-source inverter is presented the design of sliding mode control. It is shown that the developed control has following advantes. It eliminates the influence of instability in the power flow of renewable energy sources on the pump mode and the reactive-power consumption. Simulations in MATLAB/Simulink verify the proposed sliding mode control.
