Influence of torsional stiffness on flow-induced vibration of a 2DOF airfoil
Original language description
The paper reports on wind tunnel measurements of flow-induced vibration of a NACA 0015 airfoil. The airfoil has a chord length of 59.5 mm and has two degrees of freedom (pitch and plunge). Testing different pitch-to-plunge natural frequency rations. two types of aeroelastic instability have been encountered: deep dynamic stall with full flow separation and pitch angle amplitudes reaching almost 60 deg. and an instability when the airflow remains attached through all the oscillation cycle and when two distinct frequencies are visible in the spectra.
