Application of a Double-Impact-Element for Vibrations Attenuation of a Machine Mounted on Nonlinear Support

  • Original language description

The goal of this paper is to concentrate on dynamics and vibration attenuation of a machine coupled with a baseplate by nonlinear disc springs and damped by a double-impact-element. The system motion is governed by a set of three mutually coupled second-order ordinary differential equations. Analysis of behavior of the linearized system shows that multiple motion states can occur in the resonance area which corresponds to multiple solutions of the linearized equation of motion of the machine. To reduce maximum amplitude of themachine vibrations a double-impactelement damper has been chosen. Then themost significant system nonlinearities are stiffness of the support spring elements and internal impacts. As the main results it is shown that the double impact damping device massively attenuates vibrations of the machine frame for a suitable choice of the clearances between the impact elements in dependence on the excitation frequency of the baseplate.
