No-moving-part commutation of gas flows in generating plasma by cumulative detonations (survey)
Original language description
This paper discusses controlling, without use of mechanical valves, flows of three gases as follows: (1) combustible mixture (fuel and oxidant), (2) combustion products, and (3) neutral scavenging gas. The gases are deliveredperiodically in an alternating way into a pair of pulsed MHD electricity generators. Solved problem is insufficient ionisation of combustion products in the usual deflagration type burning. Solution was in extremely high temperatures produced by cumulative detonations.
