Methods and Facilities for Calibration of Noncontact Blade Vibration Diagnostic Systems

  • Original language description

This paper deals with methods and measuring systems for calibration of noncontact vibrodiagnostic systems used for operational monitoring of blades in steam and gas turbines. The principal of the blade tip-timing vibrodiagnostic system is explained as well as the function of the noncontact magnetoresistive sensor. Appliances for the static calibration of the system are described based on a position traverser with a micrometer shift. The main emphasis of this paper is given to the dynamic calibration. A 4-chip Hall effect sensor developed especially for this purpose is shown. The deflections measured by the noncontact vibrodiagnostic system at the blade tips are calibrated by strain gauges for the determination of the stress at the blade roots. The error of the calibration is estimated on the bases of derived equations.
