Effects of Surface Textures on Gravity-Driven Liquid Flow on an Inclined Plate
Original language description
Even though the free surface flows are of high importance in a number of engineering areas, they still pose a challenging problem from the point of view ofnthe Computational fluid dynamics (CFD) modeling. In the present work, a Volumeof-fluid method (VOF) based open source CFD solver, interFoam, is used to studynproperties of a gravity driven liquid flow on an inclined plate with respect to different plate textures. At first, the proposed model was validated against the availablenexperimental data. Then, effects of three different types of textures on the plate specific wetted area were evaluated.
