Single-flavor color superconductivity with color-sextet pairing

Result description

We analyze the color superconductivity of one massive flavor quark matter at moderate baryon density. First, we briefly review the framework of color superconductivity. Then, we suggest a mechanism which, within QCD, can lead to formation of a spin-zerocolor-sextet condensate. The most general form of the order parameter implies a complete breakdown of the SU(3) x U(1) symmetry. However, the conventional fermionic NJL-type description in the mean-field approximation seems to favor an enhanced O(3) symmetry of the ground state. This is ascribed to the use of the mean-field approximation and possible solutions are suggested.

    Barevná supravodivost jedné kvarkové vůně s párováním v barevném sextetu

    Abstrakt: Analyzovali jsme barevnou supravodivost hmotné kvarkové vůně při středních baryonových hustotách. Navrhli jsme nový typ párování v barevném sextetu. Pracovali jsme v rámci Nambu-Jona-Lasiniova modelu v aproximaci středního pole. Selfkonzistentní výpočet ukazuje, že základní stav preferuje spontánní narušení barevné SU(3) na podgrupu SO(3), přestože nejobecnější možný tvar dikvarkového kondenzátu umožňuje kompletní narušení symetrie.
