  • Original language description

    A new type of dispersive monochromator based on the double reflection process realized between two bent perfect crystal slabs attached in the form of a sandwich. The dispersive sandwich monochromator/analyzer provides a freedom to combine crystal slabs of different cuts i.e. different crystal reflections for the double diffraction process. By a suitable combination of two slabs, one can obtain a monochromatic neutron beam of a variety of neutron wavelengths in the thermal region. The resolution Delta lambda/lambda and the Delta alpha collimation depending on the bending radius of the sandwich can be easily changed in the range of about 1 x 10(-4) -1 x 10(-3).
