The multilayered site of Milovice IV: New insights into the Upper Paleolithic settlement under the Pavlov Hills (South Moravia, Czech Republic)
Original language description
The paper presents the results of excavating the Milovice IV site, the last site discovered in the Gravettian settlement area Dolní Věstonice-Pavlov-Milovice. The site, situated at the bottom of the Milovice valley, represents a multi-layered Upper Paleolithic settlement with a complex microstratigraphy covering the period from the beginning of the Early Upper Paleolithic (Aurignacian) to the late phase of the Gravettian. Preliminary results of the research suggest that there is a relatively large settlement from the Upper Palaeolithic period, similar to the large and complex settlements in Pavlov and Dolní Věstonice.
