Structure of silicon oxycarbide glasses derived from poly(methylsiloxane) and poly[methyl(phenyl)siloxane] precursors.
Original language description
The preparation and thermo-oxidative resistance of silicon-oxycarbide glasses were studied by solid-state NMR and FTIR. Reaction mechanism was discussed with respect to the initial composition of polysiloxane precursors. Thermo-oxidative properties are correlated with the final structure of silicon-oxycarbide glasses (distribution of various siloxane units and the amount of highly condensed carbon phase), the structure of which is discussed.
