Importance of lateral and steric stabilization of polyelectrolyte gene delivery vectors for extended systemic circulation.
Original language description
To develop long-circulating gene delivery vectors, the proerties of polyplexes prepared by self assembly of DNA with poly-L-lysine or polyethylenimine, surface-modified with either monovalent polyethylene glycol or multivalent copolymer of N-(2-hydroxypropyl)methacrylamide with methacryloylglycylglycine 4-nitrophenyl ester (PHPMA) were compared. Polymer modification correlate the biophysical properties of the vectors with their distribution following intravenous injection in mice.
