Original language description
A new mechanism of cooperative interactions between macromolecules based on the perturbed statistics of translation due to already formed bonds is proposed. A general model, nicknamed insular kinetics, is shown to fit well to the electrostatic coupling of complementary polyions with charges interleaved by up to 12 neutral monomer units.
