    The aim of the study was to investigate effects of irradiation conditions on rheological and mechanical properties of UHMWPE and to evaluate an increase in elasticity of the melts in situ during the post-radiation heat treatment. Melt rheology showed tobe a sensitive method for the evaluation of simultaneous crosslinking and chain scission in the irradiated UHMWPE.

    Cílem bylo prozkoumat vliv podmínek ozařování na reologické mechanické vlastnosti UHMWPE a vyhodnotit nárůst elasticity taveniny in situ během poradiačního zahřívání. Reologie se ukázala být citlivou metodou pro vyhodnocení souběžného síťování a degradaci řetězců v ozařovaném UHMWPE.
