UHMWPE polymer is one of the key components of total joint replacements. One of the ways how to improve UHMWPE performace, is beta-irradiation induced crosslinking and thermal treatment. In this study we investigated changes of both molecular and supermolecular structure, which result from crosslinking and thermal treatment of UHMWPE.

Polymer UHMWPE je jednou z klíčových komponent totálních endoprotéz. Jednou z cest, jak zlepsit materiálové vlastnosti UHMWPE je síťováni pomocí beta-ozařování a tepelná úprava. V této práci jsme sledovali změny molekulární i nadmolekulární struktury, ktere jsou síťováním a tepelnými úpravami vyvolány.
