A quantum mechanical study of conformations, electronic densities, and absorption spectra of neutral and cation?radical hepta[methyl(phenyl)silanes] (7MPSi) substituted with a photochromic spiropyran derivative (SP/MR) was performed. It was shown that the positive charge in the cation-radical of 7MPSi-SP is located on the main chain, while in the cation-radical of 7MPSi-MR it is located on the photochromic unit.

Byla provedena kvantově chemická studie konformací, elektronových hustot a absorpčních spekter neutrální molekuly a kation-radikálu hepta[fenyl(methyl)silanu] (7MPSi) substituovaného fotochromním derivátem spiropyranu (SP/MR). Bylo ukázáno, že kladný náboj kation-radikálu 7MPSi-SP je lokalizován na hlavním řetězci, zatímco u kation-radikálu 7MPSi-MR je lokalizován na fotochromní jednotce.
