    The reduction of silver nitrate with various polyaniline salts to polyaniline-silver composites

  • Original language description

    A conducting polymer, emeraldine form of polyaniline (PANI), reduces silver nitrate to metallic silver. The composites of PANI and silver have been prepared at equimolar proportion of reactants. Seven acids, representing inorganic and organic acids, havebeen used to protonate PANI. The acids were selected with respect to their chemical indifference or the ability to precipitate or reduce silver(I) ions. The PANI-silver composites differed in the conductivity from 1.7 x 10-6 S cm-1 to 22.8 S cm-1 at comparable silver contents, 24 and 27 wt.% according to the used acid. The composites contained spherical silver nanoparticles of 40-80 nm in size and also macroscopic particles, irrespective of PANI entering the reaction.

    Vodivý polymer, emeraldinová forma polyanilinu (PANI), redukuje dusičnan stříbrný na kovové stříbro. Komposity polyanilinu a stříbra byly připraveny s použitím ekvimolárních poměrů reaktantů. Sedm kyselin, zastupujících jak organické tak i anorganické kyseliny, bylo použito pro protonaci polyanilinu. Kyseliny byly vybrány s ohledem na svou chemickou stabilitu a schopnost srážet či redukovat stříbrné ionty. Kompozity polyanilin-stříbro se lišily svou vodivostí od 1.7x10-6 S cm-1 do 22.8 S cm-1 při srovnatelných obsazích stříbra, 24 a 27 váh.%, podle typu použité kyseliny. Kompozity obsahovaly sférické částice stříbra o velikosti 40-80 nm, ale i makroskopické částice, bez ohledu na kyselinu vstupující do reakce.
