    The contribution gives a general description of hybrid organic-inorganic epoxy polymers based on sol-gel formed nanofillers and well defined nanobuilding blocks (NBB). Polyhedral oligomeric silsesquioxane (POSS) is described as a most typical NBB. Control of the hybrid structure, polymerization kinetics, network topology and synthesis procedure are discussed. Investigation of an interphase interaction and self-assembly in epoxy-POSS networks is described as well.
