Mechanism of gas flow enhanced DC corona discharge
Original language description
We studied hollow needle to plate electrical discharge at atmospheric pressure with a supply of nitrogen through the needle electrode in order to determine stable operational regimes of the discharge. We explored various combinations of the mass flow andDC applied voltage. Depending on the polarity of the needle electrode and on the energy dissipated between electrodes, we observed two basic regimes: a) DC corona and b) DC corona superimposed with pulsed filamentary streamers.
