Evolution of instability in plasma jet boundary

Result description

The experimental investigation of oscillations arising in boundary layer of plasma jet was performed by the registration of the light radiation from the plasma jet. The linear array of eight photodiodes was used. Photodiodes array was positioned both parallel and perpendicular to the axis of the plasma jet. The evolution of oscillations was characterized by dependences of the following characteristics on axial coordinate: spectra in various radial positions, radial profiles of basic frequency amplitude,ratios of the second or the third harmonics amplitude to basic frequency amplitude and phase velocities of basic frequency and its harmonics. Dependences of these quantities on plasma jet parameters were studied. Development of spatial structure of thejet boundary oscillations is shown.

    Vývoj nestability na hranici proudu plazmatu

    Experimentální studium oscilací vznikajících v hraniční vrstvě proudu plazmatu bylo prováděno záznamem světla z plazmatu. Byla použita řádka fotodiod umístěných paralelně nebo kolmo k ose proudu plazmatu. Vývoj nestability byl charakterizován závislostínásledujících charakteristik na axiální koordinátě: spektra v různých radiálních pozicích, radiálního profilu amplitudy základní frekvence, poměru amplitudy druhé resp. Třetí harmonické k amplitudě základní frekvence a fázové rychlosti základní frekvencea jejich harmonických. Je vyobrazena prostorová struktura oscilací na různých axiálních vzdálenostech.
