Original language description
The present paper examines generation of thermal plasma jets in DC arc torch with gas-water stabilization of arc. The way of arc stabilization determines some important features of the torch. The flow rate and composition of the plasma forming gas dependon the plasma torch parameters. These characteristics cannot be measured directly and are evaluated from power balances and temperature profiles on the torch exit. Then other important parameters like Mach number and velocity can be determined.
