Electron Bernstein Wave Experiments at the WEGA Stellarator

  • Original language description

At WEGA EBW heating and current drive experiments have been successfully performed with 2.45 GHz and 28 GHz. The results has been compared with a full-wave code. At 0.5T, over-dense plasma (ne > 11019 m-3) could be sustained by centrally localized 28 GHzEBW heating for several seconds exclusively. A total power absorption of 87% was estimated from the microwave stray radiation level. Highly peaked pressure profiles were achieved. In addition a new radiometer was built-up to detect EBW-emission.
