Modified Computation of Electric Arc Radiation Loss(HTPP-11)
Original language description
Předneseno na konf.:High-Tech Plasma Processes Conference/11th./,Brusel,27.06-02.07.2010,str.36, :The authors deal with experiments carried out on an arc heater where electric arc is stabilized by flowing working gas. Measured values serve as input datafor a mathematical model of the arc inside a cylindrical anode channel. Previously, the losses of the cathode and anode spots were assumed to be negligible in comparison with the total loss. In new sets of experiments, a modular structure of the arc heater has made it possible to separate the losses of anode and cathode from the energy loss of the arc itself. Furthermore, the member of the loss caused by radial conduction has been introduced in the model. The most significant change of the model concerns the computation of radiation loss of the arc. In the original model, radiation loss was taken as a portion of the total input power. In the modified model, the radiation loss is expressed using theoretically calculated net emission
