  • Original language description

    The chapter describes processes of thermal plasma gasification, gasification reactors and plasma sources. Properties of thermal plasma torches used in plasma gasification reactors are discussed. Analysis of energy balances of plasma gasification is presented, kinetics of the gasification process is studied and relations between particle size, reaction temperature and gasification rate are discussed. Results of gasification of biomass in plasma reactor with water/gas dc arc plasma torch are given. Plasmagasification of organic materials produces syngas with high heating value and low tar content, which can be used as a fuel or basic material for production of valuable chemicals. technologies.
