Mechanical and thermal properties of tungsten composite coatings
Original language description
Tungsten is a promising candidate for plasma facing materials in a special device called tokamak that will serve for production of nuclear fusion power. In this study, hybrid gas/water stabilized plasma torch WSPH was used to produce tungsten and tungsten composite coatings. Mechanical and thermal properties of the as-sprayed and annealed coatings were measured. The results pointed out the advantages and disadvantages of the pure tungsten coating when compared with the tungsten composite coatings.
