Redox Processes Involved in Plasma-Induced Degradation of Nonylphenols in Aqueous Mixtures with Organic Liquids (AOTs21), invited lecture

  • Original language description

Předneseno na:21st International Conference on Advanced Oxidation Technologies for Treatment of Water, Air and Soil (AOTs21), San Diego, USA, 16.11.-19.11. 2015, p. 48 (invited lecture) /nNon-equilibrium plasma produced by electrical discharges has beenshown to be effective at degrading a variety of organic compounds in water. Oxidation by hydroxyl radical generated by plasma from water is referred to be dominant procesess im the degradation. The contribution of reduction procesess was mostly neglected. In addition to water, in liquids with higher organic content, plasma may interact directly with organic and cause rupture of carbon-carbon and carbon-hydrogen bonds to form radicals. However, the knowledge of the plasma-liquid interactions is very limited including the site where the major plasmachemical reactions with organics compound occur. Locally high OH* radical concentrations in the discharge plasma channels are expected to cause that the most of OH* radicals react directly
