  • Original language description

    Hybrid water/argon-stabilized plasma torch (WSP-H) has a great potential in solution precursor plasma spraying (SPPS) due to its high enthalpy and high achievable throughput. This study is focused on the fundamental mechanisms taking place during the co-deposition of aluminum and chromium oxides from solution precursor feedstocks aiming at maximization of a-alumina content in the deposits. The deposition principles were studied and the coatings were evaluated by SEM, XRD and XRF methods. The chemical composition of the deposits corresponded to the formulation of the feedstocks showing a uniform deposition of both materials, and an increasing a-phase content was observed with the increasing Cr-forming precursor in the solution.
