Status of the innovative sub-THz interferometric system design development for COMPASS Upgrade
Original language description
The COMPASS Upgrade tokamak (ne£8x1020m-3, R = 0.9 m, a = 0.27 m, Bt £ 5 T, Ip £ 2 MA) [1] is under construction at the Institute of Plasma Physics in Prague. Combination of the capability of high temperature vessel 300-500oC operation, high plasma densities, toroidal magnetic fields and plasma current is a big challenge for the diagnostic design [2]. Based on complex simulation procedure including all the restrictions, limitations and requirements for the interferometric systems used on fusion facilities, the innovative unique differential (“unambiguous”) interferometer concept for real-time line-integrated electron density measurements [3] was proposed.
