80 keV 1 MW NBI on COMPASS tokamak: the results and operational experience
Original language description
Tokamak COMPASS (a = 0.23 m, R = 0.56 m, Ip < 360 kA, Bt < 1.6 T) at IPP of the CAS was equipped with a new 80 keV 1 MW neutral beam injector (NBI) for its last campaign held in 2021. All NBIs, two 40 keV 400 kW and the new 1 MW, are planned to be re-used for the operation of the COMPASS Upgrade tokamak, which is nowadays under construction at IPP of the CAS. It is planned to have NBIs based on similar 1 MW units at COMPASS-U, therefore we were very interested in gaining first-hand experience prior to ordering and constructing additional NBIs for C-U.
