The NSTX plasma offer new possiblilities to launch RF power in 10GHz frequency range with the aim of the excitation of the electron Bernstein waves We tested simple 9 rod quasi-optical grill immerged in a oversized waveguide as a launching structure of X-mode (at the upper hybrid resonance, it is converted to the electron Bernstein waves).
