    PS2 activity, chlorophylls´ content, SOD and CAT activities decreased, and APX and GR activities increased in plants subjected to 3 or 4 weeks of chilling, but not in those subjected to 1 or 2 weeks of chilling. PS1 activity and carotenoids´ content wasnot much affected. The decrease in PS2 activity and chlorophylls´ content was more pronounced in inbreds compared to their hybrids; these differences increased with prolonged duration of chilling. The reverse was true for SOD activity, while changes in the parents-hybrids relationship in the activities of other three enzymes depended both on duration of chilling and on the maternal genotype of hybrid.

    U rostlin po působení chladového stresu po dobu 3-4 týdny poklesly aktivita PS2, obsah chlorofylu a aktivity SOD a CAT, zatímco aktivity APX a GR vzrostly. To však nebylo pozorováno u rostlin podrobených chladu po dobu pouze 1-2 týdny. Aktivita PS 1 a obsah karotenoidů se podstatněji nezměnily. Pokles aktivity PS2 a obsahu chlorofylu byl výrznější u inbredních kukuřic ve srovnání s hybridy, tyto rozdíly se zvyšovaly s prodlužující se dobou chladového působení. Opačné trendy jsme zjistili u aktivity SOD,zatímco změny ve vztahu rodič-hybridy v aktivitách ostatních tří enzymů závisely jak na době chladového působení, tak na maternálním genotypu hybridu.
