Reactive Nitrogen Species and the Role of NO in Abiotic Stress

  • Original language description

Nitric oxide plays a significant role in a wide spectrum of plant responses to various abiotic stresses. This chapter is focused on the NO role in plants growing under conditions of drought, waterlogging, low and high temperatures, salininy, pollution ofheavy metals etc. The identification of proteins as potential targets for nitration and S-nitrosylation in plants under various stresses will contribute to advances in the regulatory functions of NO in plants.
