There are just a few available papers that cover the large scale of changes in micronutrient levels following LSG. It is obvious that LSG, apart from having an indisputable impact on weight reduction, imposes consequences for metabolic functions, including the metabolism of micronutrients. However, certain errors in the methodology and factuality disqualify this otherwise very interesting and demanding study, as assessed according to the provided evidence, from the viewpoint of monitoring nutrient deficits after LSG and their successive compensation with vitamin supplementation.
