    Reminiscence v péči o seniory s demencí

    Objective: The main purpose of our work is to determine the use of reminiscence in health care for seniors and its influence on the quality of life. Methods: Restricting the choice of foreign work for the period 2009-2014 and reviewed sources were used for the search strategy. The selection of Czech works was limited to 2005-2015. Data were obtained from databases from EBSCO Discovery Service EDS and Medvik Results: In abroad reminiscence is used in the care of the elderly with dementia. Nine studies wer analyzed from foreign sources. These research studies provide inconclusive evidence of a positive influence of reminiscence on the quality of life. Reminiscence is not applied in the Czech health system. The Czech research is represented by two major reminiscent projects. The first one (2007) is dealing with the influence of reminiscence on the quality of life in institutions of social services and the second one (2012) researche use with reminiscence in families of people with dementia. Conclusion: The general efficiency of reminiscence according to the studies is considered to be insufficiently supported by verified evidence of a positive influence on the quality of life of older people with dementia.
