The aim of this paper is defining the role and place of charity in the contemporary society based on the value analysis. Charity is considered an important aspect of the principle of humanism. There is a definition of the idea of a good society, which should become a higher criterion of moral goodness. The absolute moral requirement on a man, which is, in accordance with the principle of humanism, is the requirement to participate in creating a 'good society', i.e. a society that not only ensures the highest possible living standard, but also meeting the highest standard of fulfilling moral values. The important moral values include charity.
