Reflections of Trauma in Selected Works of Postwar American and British Literature
Original language description
The book examines the representation of trauma and posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) in the selected works of postwar American and British literature. It focuses especially on the works depicting historical trauma as a result of extreme historical events (the Holocaust, atomic bombing of Hiroshima, violent manifestations of antisemitism, etc.). The monograph, however, also examines the reflection of structural trauma in some novels. Furthermore, attention is paid to the transnational transmission oftrauma.
