Apocryphal distance in the image of Hussitism in contemporary Czech prose
Original language description
In contemporary Czech literature we can meet also prosaic genres which can be characterized as the ?apocrypha?. This term is used for description of subversive, polemical paraphrases of generally known stories from the Bible, Greek and Roman mythology, history, etc. Nevertheless, thematic difference between the well-known old text and the new one is not the only distinction that can be found in the apocrypha. In the present essay also other forms and ways of distinction are demonstrated on the apocryphal short stories presenting ironical, sarcastic and sceptical image of the Hussite movement, i. e. historical event that is in the Czech context traditionally understood and appreciated as a heroic moment of Czech national history.
