Original language description
The conference ?Mongol expansion and its influence on development in the Eurasian area in the 13th and 14th centuries?, focused on the issue of the development of the Mongol Empire and an endeavour to, if possible, comprehend in a complex manner the impact of the expansionist policies of the Mongol khans as a phenomenon, which connected the geographically and culturally seemingly unconnected geographical and mental horizons of the medieval world. The further impacts of the conference will be found, considering its international and mainly Eurasian format, mainly in a potential opening of a wide comparative field in the perspectives on the given issue. Circles for the issue:Process of the creation of the Mongol Empire and the principles of its integrity and stabilityGenghis Khan and his ruling dynasty (power, charisma and propaganda in its political strategies)Process of the expansion of the Mongol Empire in Asian areas and its basic milestones (methods of implementing the expansive policies and its actors)Mongol campaign into East and Central Europe (course and important milestones of the invasion; short-term and long-term consequences of the Mongol invasion in Central Europe)The Christian West and the Mongols (reaction to the Mongol invasion of Central Europe; the image of the foreign/Other in medieval culture)Collapse of the unified Mongol Empire and the fates of its ?successor? states in the 14th century (Chagatai Khanate, Il-khanate, Yuan Dynasty and the Golden Horde)
