Introduction: Premodern History and Art through the Prism of Gender

  • Original language description

The present collection of texts was gathered on the platform of a conference session held at the 11th Congress of Czech Historians in 2017. The proposed book in fact represents the first collection of texts dealing with medieval and premodern history and art in East-Central Europe (and in broader contexts) viewed from the perspective of gender studies. It could well be considered as the collection of texts introducing the gender studies in East-Central European medieval and premodern history (and art) to the broader audience and the global academia.
