This paper focuses on the impact of technology on youth culture in the Czech Republic. Based on recent research in the Czech Ostrava region, the paper addresses how Czech youth use the Internet to dialogue about Central European culture and interact in ways not possible before 1989. The research presents the views of Czech youth who participate in computer mediated civic discourse and to feel connected to the world, a connection that is, for many, beyond reach through traditional communicative means
