Biometry and ecology of the invasive crayfish Orconectes limosus in terminal and residential localities in the Czech Republic

  • Original language description

We selected three types of localities: 1.Large rivers, residential (Labe, Vltava); 2. Brooks (small and shallow running waters), marginal; 3. Isolated standing waters ? residential (old sandpits or flooded quarries). No significant differences in the total body length of crayfish were found between running and standing water localities as a whole, or between marginal and residential populations from running waters. There was, however, a low but distinct difference in the body weight between crayfish from brooks and other waters. Larger specimens (up to 117 mm in body length) were found only in isolated standing waters, whereas no crayfish longer than 100 mm were found in the rivers. The sex ratio of the crayfish was almost equal in rivers and isolatedwaters; males were more numerous in brooks. There was a significant difference between male and female body weight-length relations.

Bometrie a ekologie invazivního raka Orcoectes limosus v České republice

  • Czech description

Byly vybrány 3 tyky lokalit: 1. Velké řeky, rezidenční (Labe, Vltava); 2. Potoky (malé a mělké tekoucí vody), marginální; 3. Izolované stojaté vody, rezidenční (starší zaplavené pískovny a lomy). Nebyl zjištěn významný rozdíl v délce těla u raků z tekoucích a stojatých vod, nebo u rezidenčních a marginálních lokalit v tekoucích vodách. Malý, ale určitý rozdíl byl s hmotnosti těl mezi raky z potoků a jiných vod. Větší jedinci (do 117 mm délky těla) byli odloveni v izolovaných stojatých vodách, zatímco žádný rak z větších řek nebyl delší než 100 mm. Poměr pohlaví raků byl poměrně shodný v řekách a izolovaných vodách; samci byli početně hojn
