The article is focused on the landscape development analyze in the cadastral area Karviná-Doly since 30-ties of the 19th century to the beginning of the 21st century. Karviná-Doly represents an anthropogenically transformed landscape with the intensive effect of mining production. The evaluation of the landscape development is based on the chosen landscape metrics. The data sources for the landscape development analyses were acquired from the stabile cadastral maps (the year 1836) and from the aerial photos for the years 1947, 1971, 2003. Remote sensing tools and geographic information system tools were used. From the generated data, these landscape structure metrics were calculated and evaluated for each year: Shannon?s diversity index, coefficient ofanthropogenic impact on the landscape, coefficient of mining transformation of the landscape and coefficient of ecological stability.
