Original language description
This paper summarizes the knowledge on (dis)connectivity in the Morávka River basin. The (dis)connectivity identification was facilitated by one of the most common methods of complex geomorphologic research: digital elevation model (DEM) morphometric analysis followed by the processing of results in the geographical information system (GIS). The recognition of sediment distribution within the basin and sediment input into the channel is based on the determination of effective catchment area (ECA) and transversal profile analysis. The definition of effective catchment area is based on a simple assumption that the slope angle (gradient) controls sediment delivery to the channel. Channel reaches in the contact zone with ECA are characterized by the occurrence of gravel-bed.
