Process of the REA Concept Transformation
Original language description
The paper describes the business process modeling technology based on the resource ownership and its exchange - the REA ontology (Resources, Events, Agents) introduced by McCarthy. To ensure the model persistence some transformations to relation databases must be discussed. The REA ontology uses simple concepts for business processes modeling. These concepts have a sufficient level of detail to potentially allow an automated translation. The first part of the article deals with the general structure ofthe REA ontology and introduces some basic concepts and semantic abstractions. Following part describes the transformation of semantic abstractions and concepts into the relation database which is demonstrated on the model example.
