Original language description
Orthotrichum affine var. bohemicum This variety was described recently from the Czech Republic by Plasek et al. (2011). The herbarium specimen cited above was found during a visit to the herbarium of the Swedish Museum of Natural History (S) in October 2012. It was formerly identified by C.A. Tarnlund as Orthotrichum affine. Upon close examination, the collection proved to be the first record of O. affine var. bohemicum for Sweden. It appears that the variety is geographically widespread. However, untilnow it was reported only from the Czech Republic, USA and Poland
